LONG POST
Adding an open laptop beside two screens creates a third object, so there is another neighbouring gap to count. Start with the two-P2722H example at 1,339.8 mm, including its chosen gap and side allowances. Add an illustrative 350 mm laptop or laptop-stand width and one more 20 mm gap. The new plan totals 1,709.8 mm.

Against the same illustrative 1,400 mm desktop width, that plan is 309.8 mm short. The 350 mm and 20 mm values are planning choices, not a claim about every laptop. Replace the width with the actual device or support you will use.

A vertical laptop holder, a laptop behind a screen or an angled arrangement is a different footprint and is not modeled by this side-by-side drawing. The result is a width deficit under the entered assumptions, not a blanket statement that laptops cannot fit small desks. Use the linked preset to change the equipment and gaps before considering a different arrangement.
